Fraud Advisory Panel

The Fraud Advisory Panel is a registered charity and membership organisation which acts as an independent voice and supporter of the counter fraud community in the United Kingdom. By bringing together people and organisations with an interest and expertise in preventing, detecting, investigating and prosecuting fraud we believe that we can make a difference in stopping fraudsters in their tracks.

The Panel works to reduce the harm caused by fraud and financial crime by raising awareness of the human, social and economic damage it causes and through helping individuals and organisations to develop effective strategies to prevent it. The Panel’s work includes:

  • Advising Government, business and the general public on fraud prevention, detection and reporting.
  • Originating proposals to reform the law and public policy, with particular emphasis on investigation and prosecution.
  • Improving education and training in business and the professions as well as amongst the general public.
  • Undertaking research to establish a more accurate picture of the extent, causes and nature of fraud.

The Fraud Advisory Panel offers a truly multi-disciplinary perspective on fraud with members drawn from the public, private and voluntary sectors and across a variety of professions. No other counter fraud organisation has such a range and depth of knowledge – both of the problems and of the solutions.
